Meet the 2021 IEEE ComSoc Vice Presidential Candidate for Technical and Education Activities: Octavia Dobre. Octavia Dobre (http://www.engr.mun.ca/~dobre/) is a Professor and Research Chair at Memorial University, Canada. She is a Fellow of the IEEE and the Engineering Institute of Canada. 

Octavia has served in numerous IEEE leadership positions, including: inaugural Editor-in-Chief, IEEE OJCOMS; Editor-in-Chief, IEEE Communications Letters; inaugural Chair, Women in Communications Engineering (WICE) Committee; member, ComSoc Board of Governors; Technical Program Chair of flagship conferences; Vice-Chair, Technical Committee (TC) on Cognitive Networks; Chair, Vice-Chair, and Secretary, Signal Processing and Computing for Communications (SPCC) TC.
