At the APEC 2010 anniversary conference, JB Straubel, Chief Technical Officer of Tesla Motors, Inc., gave his plenary talk on "Power Electronics Vehicle Performance, Efficiency and Drivability." Straubel comments on how Tesla Motors has moved through four generations of power electronics in the Roadster sport car to increase current and torque. Power electronics improvements are allowing for faster charging ranges and more advanced interfaces with the power grid.
