2013 IEEE Honors Ceremony
Accelerating Advances was the theme on Saturday, 29 June 2013 at the annual IEEE Honors Ceremony. Hosted at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel, CA, USA. the event featured IEEE President Peter Staecker as Master of Ceremonies along with co-presenter IEEE President-Elect Roberto de Marca.
The Honors Ceremony recognizes IEEE's most prestigious Medal and Recognition recipients. Irwin Mark Jacobs, founding Chairman and Chief Executive Emeritus of Qualcomm, Inc., is recognized for the IEEE Medal of Honor, IEEE's highest-level award.
In addition, 19 IEEE Medals and Recognition were presented at the Honors Ceremony for areas including, wireless communications, photonics, navigation, space exploration, nano- and bio-engineering.
