Quantum Education for Students & Teachers at IQC

As quantum technology becomes more mainstream, it’s essential to introduce students to quantum mechanics at an earlier age. When building educational quantum programs, it’s important that they are accessible and accurate, and designed with real-world limitations in mind.

In this talk, I’ll discuss efforts by the Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC) over the past ten years to develop summer schools and resources for students and teachers, including the Quantum Cryptography School for Young Students (QCSYS), the Undergraduate School on Experimental Quantum Information Processing (USEQIP), and the teacher-oriented Schrödinger’s Class.

We will also discuss lessons learned from adapting these in-person workshops to online formats during the COVID-19 pandemic.
