Email is mainly about messages distributed by electronic means from one computer user to one or more recipients via a network. Email is still among the most widely used communication tools in the workplace today.
On 15th July 2021, IEEE BUBT Student Branch, IEEE RAS BUBT Student Branch Chapter, IEEE Council on Superconductivity BUBT SB chapter arranged an event about “Workshop on Effective Email Writing” The speaker of the event, Md. Tabil Ahammed is a Brand Ambassador at IEEE Bangladesh Section R10 and he is also an Ambassador of IEEE PES Day 2021.
The main reason for the workshop is to let people know more about the topic “Effective Email Writing”.
The speaker started with the topic of what email is and its history and how effective it is to use for many works. He talked about “front all setting”, “text style”, “template” and many more. The speaker showed many things by sharing his screen and taught us how to do it. He also showed us how to add sign, link, mute, undo messages and how to attach larger files for sending emails.
There are many more topics the speaker taught us like theme, density, yahoo, nudges, smart reply, email tracking, dashboard, timer add, outlook, red-bang starred mute, snippets, and many more.
The achievement of the workshop was that above 120 people gave feedback on the workshop. In total, 123 people joined the workshop and 78 of them are IEEE members. The number of female participants was 56.
Through this virtual workshop, the participants got a chance to know about these topics briefly and how effectively they can be used. It can be said that it was a successful workshop indeed.
