Dr. Xiaobo Zhu is a Professor at the University of Science and Technology of China in Hefei, Anhui Province. Professor Zhu received his PhD in condensed matter physics at the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing. He held positions of Assistant and Associate professor at the Institute of Physics until 2008 when he joined the NTT Basic Research Laboratories. In 2013, he returned to the Institute of Physics as a special assigned professor, and in 2016 joined the University of Science and Technology of China as Professor. His team is dedicated to develop and scale-up superconducting quantum processors and hybrid superconducting quantum systems. He was the first to demonstrate coherent coupling between a superconducting qubit and nitrogen-vacancy-center ensemble. Together with collaborators they realized a ten-bit entanglement on a superconducting quantum processor.
